Packaging Team Lead

Lonerider Brewing Company in Raleigh, NC has an immediate opening for a full time Packaging Team Lead position. We are a dedicated team who love our job. We’re looking for a fun, hard working person with an unyielding dedication to quality to join our team and we will accept nothing less! Our production will exceed 18,000 BBLs in 2017, and more growth is coming our way. Previous experience in a packaging environment is preferred and preference will be given to individuals with experience directly related to brewery packaging operations. This position is responsible for assistance in team leadership, guidance, and support in performing primary packaging functions, from set-up to clean-up, and general duties in the production brewery. This individual will report to the Brewery Manager and will lead all packaging related activities.

 

Job Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Complete operation of Palmer can filler (CIP, materials prep, continuous operation, regular maintenance, troubleshooting, emergency repairs, and daily clean-up).
  • Operation of all peripheral packaging machines, troubleshooting, maintenance, repairs, and
  • Provide knowledgable guidance and training to packaging personnel in all daily operations.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and calm logical approach to daily tasks and unexpected challenges.
  • Upkeep, organization & cleanliness of
  • Display a working knowledge of mechanical and automated equipment with capability to troubleshoot and effectively address
  • Adherence to Lonerider Brewing safety protocols while promoting a culture of safety awareness
  • Ability to perform packaging related QA tasks including seam checks and gas checks (Hamilton Beverly) whilst understanding their relation to potential hazards in product
  • Maintain records and inventories associated with packaged products, reporting re- order points in a timely
  • Display awareness for all brewery operations with consideration to priorities in a production

 

Qualified Candidates will possess the following:

  • Must be 21+ years of age
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • outgoing personality
  • ability to work all shifts, additional hours & weekends as required
  • ability to multi-task with attention to detail
  • working to high quality standards with and without direct supervision
  • ability to understand and follow SOPs
  • ability to lift 50-75 lbs to shoulder height repeatedly
  • ability to stand on your feet for an 8 hour shift
  • ability to maneuver beer kegs (165 lbs)

Warehouse Team

Lonerider Brewing Company in Raleigh, NC has an immediate opening for a warehouse team member. We are a dedicated team who love our job. We’re looking for a fun, hard working person with an unyielding dedication to quality to join our team and we will accept nothing less! This is an excellent opportunity to join a brewery with a bright future and long-term goals along with working and living in the North Carolina Triangle area.

Job Duties include but are not limited to:

• Loading and unloading of deliveries, movement of raw materials and finished products. • Operates lift trucks and other equipment to load packaged products on appropriate vehicles for transport. • Help as needed in all other parts of the brewery (Team Player). • Learn, understand, and execute warehouse operations according to standard operating procedures. • Perform basic maintenance on machinery to ensure it is functioning safely, properly, and efficiently. • Inspects equipment and reports malfunctions and all mechanical issues to manager. • Complete all paperwork associated with each duty with 100% accuracy. • Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area. • Maintains records, tallies, and reports as required. • Performs computer data entry as required. • Operate machinery following all safety guidelines in an efficient manner. • Assist co-workers and cross train in other departments to ensure brewery goals are accomplished. • Work in tandem with Brewery Manager, Logistics, Packaging, and QC & QA. • Unloads raw materials for brewery use and stages them in appropriate areas.

Qualified Candidates will possess the following:

• Must be 21+ years of age • High School Diploma or equivalent • forklift driver certification (propane and electric lifts preferred) • outgoing personality • ability to work all shifts, additional hours & weekends as required • ability to multi-task with attention to detail • working to high-quality standards with and without direct supervision • ability to understand and follow SOPs • Must be able to continually lift 65 pounds and move 175 pounds regularly and repeatedly. • Must have the ability to regularly stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, work from heights, stoop, kneel and crouch. • The ability to work near moving parts and machinery. • Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, the ability to adjust focus and the ability to see color; either with or without accommodation. • The ability to work in loud, wet, cold, hot, indoor, and outdoor environments frequently.

Qualified applicants should possess superior knowledge and passion of the craft beer business, experience in a similar role at a brewery, ability to excel in a collaborative work environment, exceptional work ethic and ability to understand the big picture while keeping a close eye on the details, strong written and verbal communication skills, capability to multitask, and a major appreciation for organization. Applicants should also possess reliable car transportation, a clean driving record, night and weekend flexibility, and an outstanding relationship-building personality.

The position is full-time and hourly wages will commensurate with skills and experience.
